Weight Management Case Study
Liz's Story
From binge eating and food obsession to food freedom, confidence and a healthier relationship with food.
Liz had battled with binge eating privately for decades.
She was caught in a cycle of weighing herself, counting calories, trying damaging fad diets and setting herself increasingly restrictive targets — always determined to be a certain weight by a certain date.
The more she tried to control her food, the more consuming it became.
By the time Liz came to work with me, food, weight and numbers were taking up far too much space in her life.
14 sessions. A completely different relationship with food.
Over the 14 sessions we worked together, Liz stopped binge eating entirely — even when faced with challenges and situations that would previously have triggered a binge.
She began to let go of her obsession with the numbers on the scales and developed a much healthier understanding of what her body actually needed.
Her sleep improved. Her stress levels reduced significantly, and she developed practical tools to manage stress in a way that no longer relied on food.
Most importantly, she began to eat intuitively rather than restrictively.
She started to understand the importance of nourishing her body rather than constantly trying to control it.
And something else changed too.
Liz began getting excited about becoming stronger, rather than simply becoming smaller.
She started enjoying going to the gym and building strength, no longer striving for “skinny” as the ultimate goal.
The result?
Since working together, Liz has lost over 1.5 stone — gradually, healthily and without the extreme restriction that had characterised so many of her previous attempts.
But the number on the scales is only part of her story.
Food noise is no longer consuming her.
She can enjoy a lovely meal with friends and relax without being flooded with guilt or shame afterwards.
She no longer feels that one meal has undone everything.
She has broken free from the cycle of bingeing and restriction and, perhaps most importantly, she has learned to trust herself around food.
From food noise to food freedom.
And that’s the transformation that matters most.

"I have just finished my hypnotherapy sessions with Stef. Stef has completed change my eating habits. After I stopped smoking I gained weight rapidly from binge eating. I would eat in small quick periods until I was in pain then I would do quick fad diets to try and undo the damage and just ended up binging further down the line from the stress of it. Stef has given me stress management hypnotherapy and I have not binged since. Even my daughter mentioned it to me the other day so my children have even noticed the difference. I am on healthy path of eating and now not labelling any foods or doing any silly fad diets. I would 100% recommend Stef 🤍" - LIZ

"Just wanted to tell you how amazing I feel since coming to you for hypno for my weight loss and eating issues.
6 months in and I have not binged or labelled foods as 'bad'. I have finally managed to get my head round coming back to some normality with my food and diet and prioritise eating well. It has been a journey but a great one. I have had a surgery in between and managed to balance my weight and keep it down. I would never have done this before as I had no movement for over a month which could have spiralled and sent me into a very bad place with food. Thank you so much for helping me 🤍" - LIZ
