Introduction

Thanks for visiting my website. I’m Stef Gogna, the face behind Stef Gogna Hypnotherapy.
I’m a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I hold a DSFH in hypnotherapy and a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science.

My Background

Alongside being a hypnotherapist, I have over a decade of experience working for the ambulance service. As a paramedic on the frontline through COVID-19, I saw firsthand how the mind and body respond under intense stress.

I witnessed resilience, fear, courage, and vulnerability every single day — and I realised that healing goes far beyond the physical body. That realisation sparked a desire to help people in a more holistic way, which eventually led me to train as a hypnotherapist.

A Little About Me

In my free time, I love to be in nature — travelling, surfing, or hiking — and not much beats a good coconut matcha and a chin wag with friends!

I’m fiercely passionate about mental and physical health, and above all else, neuroplasticity and our incredible ability to rewire the brain.

How I Found SFH

I first came across Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) after a terrible experience with a counsellor. She treated me like a textbook, criticised me for not being on medication, and showed none of the empathy I expected from a Health Care Professional (HCP).

As an HCP myself, I was shocked. Whilst I believe in all modalities of therapy, I knew she wasn’t the right fit for me and I didn’t want to give up on my search for support.  

So, I kept looking.

My Transformation

I came across SFH, took a leap of faith, and booked an initial consultation — even though I didn’t know much about it.

The relief I felt in that session was palpable.

I was seen. I was treated with respect. I was treated as an individual.

I loved how educational, empowering, and holistic the approach was, so I signed up.

A few months later, SFH had freed me from anxiety and low mood, and helped me realise I had PTSD. It brought joy back into my life after a long period of disconnection, sadness, and feeling lost. Recently, SFH also helped me overcome my wasp phobia too!

I can confidently say — through experience — that SFH has changed my life in profound ways, and is changing people’s lives every single day.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is an evidence-based therapy that draws upon the latest research from neuroscience, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP).
Together, these approaches create a holistic, empowering and positive method for building meaningful and lasting change.

Focusing on the Present, Not the Past

Unlike traditional therapies that may focus heavily on past experiences, SFH helps clients root themselves in the present, find their flow and build on the strengths they have discovered — or rediscovered — so they can continue to thrive.

The Power of Trance

By combining these techniques with the natural, focused state known as trance, clients are guided into a calmer, more solution-focused mindset.
This promotes nervous system regulation — something we could all benefit from in a fast-paced world that often congratulates burnout.

Trance allows the brain to process information more efficiently, supporting the development of healthier thought patterns and, in turn, healthier habits and behaviours.
